RADICAVA (edaravone injection)
Edaravone, sold under the brand name Radicava among others, is a medication used to treat stroke and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Radicava (edravone) injection and Radicava ORS, an oral suspension, are used to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease, which affects nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain. Active ingredient: edaravone Inactive ingredients: L-cysteine hydrochloride hydrate, sodium bisulfite, sodium chloride, phosphoric acid and sodium hydroxide.
Edaravone is used to help people recover from stroke in Japan, and is used to treat ALS in the US and Japan.. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers it to be a first-in-class medication.
